Some Great Products for Greener Living

Everything listed below will be mentioned in one of my 24 planned blogs. I know there are many other quality brands and products besides what I have listed. I am only listing the things I’ve had experience with. If you have a favorite that you think fits in Earth Matters Now theme, please send me an email with information about it and what makes it EMN worthy. Brands/Items are listed in alphabetical order.

(I have purchased and used each of the products listed. I may receive a small commission if a product is purchased after clicking on the link, at no cost to you. Thank you for supporting the work at Earth Matters Now.)

*I have tried many other brands of water bottles and commuter cups, but I love that these brands stand up to getting cleaned in dishwasher. Some other brands’ paint chipped off after several washings in dishwasher.

Notes
Ball Mason Jars and Lids I find that thrift stores and garage sales are often the best places to purchase the larger jars. There are so many different tops for mason jars. I use the pitcher lid when I make ice tea.
Bottle Bright Easily cleans my stainless steel water bottles and tumblers of tea stains. I fill my container ¾ full with near boiling water, drop in 1 tablet and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
*Hydro Flask tumblers and food canisters I use the slide top and straw top for my tumbler. Four sizes of insulated food storage.
*Klean Kanteen cups* and insulated food canisters
I love my Klean Kanteen cups. I bought them long ago when there weren’t many other options like this. I have listed more affordable stainless steel cups below.
Stainless steel cups are great for kids and adults at home, picnics, and for travel. The food canisters keep food hot or cold. I’ve had many pint cups and two food canisters for well over 10 years.
PrepWorks food trays I use the 1-cup and ½-cup versions for freezing sauces, oatmeal and cooked rice.
Pyrex nesting bowls Easy to carry glass bowls with lids for leftovers at restaurants that can go in the microwave.
Scoopie nesting containers I find this stainless steel set to be the lightest and smallest to carry to restaurants for leftovers.
Souper Cubes® food trays Like very large silicone ice cube trays to freeze/store leftovers and meals. I use the 2-cup for soups and leftovers.

Stainless steel cups and tumblers made with food grade 18/8 or 18/10 steel

Note: Single-wall cups can “sweat” and can only hold cold liquids. Double-wall can hold hot and cold liquids and do not sweat.

These removable silicone bands help keep cups unique.

8 oz single-wall
8 oz single-wall w/lids
8 oz double-wall

10 oz single-wall
10 oz double-wall

12 oz single-wall
12 oz double-wall w/lids

16 oz single-wall
16 oz double-wall

Stasher silicone bags I love the bowls to store frozen vegetables but use all their other types for everything else. I wash these bags in my dishwasher (open over several rack tines) and then dry on a rack on my countertop.
U-Konserve stainless steel nesting trio I take these stainless steel round containers to restaurants in case I have food to take home. They are lighter than glass, but can’t go in microwave oven.
West Bros food containers Larger rectangular shaped stainless steel container holds the smaller two side by side.
West Bros round containers I like that there are 5 sizes of round stainless steel containers nested together. I don’t like that the only way to purchase at this time is buying four sets of 5.
*Yeti tumblers My favorite commuter mug is the 26 oz Rambler with straw and slide tops
Important note: When looking for stainless steel cups, food containers and straws, look for products labeled 18/8 or 18/10 (also known as 304) for a safer, higher quality, non-corrosive product.
